Enjoy food, not just during an Ayurveda cure

Eating should be fun, even in everyday life. Enjoy your meals consciously and in a relaxed environment. Avoid distractions and adjust your food to suit all senses of taste. Use spices such as ginger and cinnamon to strengthen the digestive fire (Agni).

Enjoy food, not just during an Ayurveda cure

Eating should be fun and it is important to enjoy eating, not only during an Ayurveda cure, but also in everyday life!

It is time to fill up empty energy storage—and the way is important.

Good and tasty food is part of our daily zest for life. Just as a good chef creates his dishes with love, desire and passion, we can enjoy and enjoy them with the same attributes. If you cook yourself, it is best to design it so that the preparation of your food can also have a meditative character. As you know, “love goes through the stomach.” . 😉

Food intake is the time to replenish our energy stores and these are not only found at the biological level. Our “soul” and senses are also happy when we really enjoy it and enjoy it.

In this way, even an imaginatively prepared and decorated dish makes a valuable contribution to our zest for life. There is also a lot of knowledge about these things in our old folk wisdom, such as: the statements: “The eye eats with us” or “He who does not enjoy becomes inedible.”

Ayurveda health theory knows that our metabolism also works most effectively when we enjoy our meals in a relaxed position and environment. To relax, eat sitting down. If you are too active, your nervous system directs blood to muscles and brain instead of to the intestines. This is what happens when you watch TV or read while eating.

So better: Relax, consciously approach your food. Celebrate and enjoy! A spontaneous “mmhh” or “delicious” immediately triggers positive digestive signals.

Do not drink much while eating. A little warm water with ginger and lemon and/or salt and honey before eating promotes digestion. They also supply our six taste senses — sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter and tart. According to Ayurveda, all flavors should be included in every meal, otherwise your body will make you feel deficient at some point.

Spices such as anise, fennel, caraway, coriander, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and pepper are therefore referred to as digestive spices in Ayurveda as they strongly stimulate our digestive fire (Agni).

The 4 pillars of health

Harmony is the basis of our health. Balancing attention to the following four areas of life, or even the “4 pillars of health”, is helpful for getting started in everyday life in Ayurveda after the treatment.
