In harmony with nature: experience Ayurveda in monsoon

Monsoon, an auspicious period for Ayurveda cures? Some Ayurveda travelers have made their bookings to Sri Lanka for your Ayurveda treatment or a Ayurveda yoga retreat A bit more reserved during monsoon. Why is that so? They fear cold and wet weather as they know it from Europe. Sri Lanka 'experts', on the other hand, like to travel from May to September and enjoy their Ayurveda treatments to the fullest. The country, the roads and the hotels are not too crowded, as in high season and it is more contemplative overall.

Even if it rains from time to time, it is more likely to be perceived as pleasant. The country shines in its fresh lush greenery and everything is dust-free and refreshed again. However, the temperatures remain pleasantly warm in summer. As soon as the rain clouds have moved on and the sun shines again, the 'holiday world' is in order again. 🙂

The monsoon season is therefore particularly suitable for Ayurveda cures on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. This is because the air is now humid but not too hot — ideal conditions to open skin pores naturally and promote the absorption of healing oils. On the one hand, this supports the detoxification process and, on the other hand, allows the active ingredients of Ayurvedic oils to penetrate the skin more easily and intensively.

Medicinal Ayurvedic oils in particular are among the great secrets of traditional Ayurveda medicine. Studies show that during Ayurveda cures lasting two to three weeks, the active ingredients of massage oils not only reach every cell of the body, but — similar to minerals such as magnesium or calcium — can even be stored in the bones as depots.

In addition, we would like to encourage you to enjoy a high-quality Ayurveda treatment in the idyllically situated Shunyata Villa on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka even in the off-season!
